Using PKB in an environment with Proxy Servers

As mentioned earlier, PKB is a web based application. To use it you need to be connected to the Internet. Many companies protect their systems by requiring users connected to the corporate LAN to access the Internet via a "proxy server". PKB can access its home server via your corportae proxy server. To do this fill in the name and port of the proxy server into the logon screen fields. You can usually find the name of your proxy server (if any) by going to Internet Explorer Tools Menu/Internet Options/Connections/Lan Settings or the equivalent in other browsers.

Some corporate IT architectures will not support lookup of a proxy server by name. If this is the case, find out it's IP address from your IT administration and use the IP4 address instaed of a name.
